Suffolk Discovery Tour
The towns and villages in Suffolk are wonderfully varied and we take through as many as we can on your runs so you can appreciate the charm of these historic towns dotted throughout the county. Our Village run takes you through villages that look as though they’ve been designed by Disney as a theme park. Colourful and in some cases very quirky buildings are part of the fabric of this county and you’re far more likely to see the traditional pink washed walls than a row of modern executive homes. On our coastal run Dunwich is one of smallest villages, yet it opens out onto an expanse of kaleidoscopic heathland rich with wildlife.
Aldeburgh is a magnet for cultural tourists to the coast, who come to experience its acclaimed arts festivals and fabulous food. Another quintessential seaside town is Southwold, perennially adored for its beach huts, fantastic pier, and charming coastal pubs; meanwhile neighbouring Walberswick has long been a haunt for artists and writers, who find inspiration in its nostalgic character and beauty.
Our tour to Suffolk is not complete without a visit to Sutton Hoo which you have an opportunity to do on our Coastal run. The discovery of the ship burial site, complete with priceless artefacts, has been the subject of several tv programmes, the latest being ‘The Dig’ film shown on Netflix. The visitor centre contains original artefacts, replicas of finds and a reconstruction of the ship burial chamber. The site is National Trust with all comfort facilities.
Also, an optional photo Completion on the runs. Private dining.
