This is a little-known area for most which is rich in historical sites, such as the renowned gardens like Great Dixter House and Gardens and Scotney Castle and Gardens. You have the option to a enjoy a ride on the famous Bluebell Railway.
We have organised three runs that explore this hidden gems of Southeast England.
The Ashdown Forest, apart from providing scenic walks, also has a network of roads to explore. The surrounding area offers many places to discover, including Batemans – Rudyard Kipling’s house, Glyndebourne, Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, and Herstmonceux.
Based at the four-star PowderMills Hotel at Battle, recently refurbished, sits around a seven-acre lake with 78 acres of private ancient woodlands and streams.
Draft Itinerary: East Sussex Tour
Day One
- Drinks reception and briefing.
- Private dinner in the Music Room.
June: Day Two
- Run 90 miles exploring central East Sussex.
- Visit Great Dixter Gardens and House, Batemans NT, historic places, and Sussex Vineyards.
- Optional private lunch at Horsted Place Hotel Garden Room.
- Private dinner in the Music Room.
Day Three
- Run to East Sussex, including Dungeness Lighthouse, Romney Marshes, Appledore, and then to the attractive market town of Tenterden.
- 19:00 Private buffet dinner in the Music Room.
Day Four
- Run via Beachy Head, Birling Gap, Eastbourne, and more.
- Optional visit to Sheffield Park Gardens NT and Bluebell Railway Trip with Rover Ticket.
- Private dinner in the Music Room.
June: Day Five
- Breakfast.
